The BMW 507 was produced between 1956 and 1959, intended to bridge the gap between more expensive convertibles such as the Mercedes Benz 300sl, and the cheaper, underpowered convertibles made by MG and Triumph. A version was sold with a hand made removable hard top, however only 11 cars were ordered in this specification, and due to minute differences in the bodies of the cars, each hard top fit only the car for which it was made
